The Light Shines in the Darkness

About this message

In this message from The Light Weekend, Mike uses a powerful demonstration with children building little LED lamps to illustrate how Jesus is the light of the world that shines in darkness and can never be extinguished, showing us that no matter how dark our circumstances feel—whether through situations beyond our control or choices we’ve made—there is always a light that can lead us out if we’re willing to look for it. Through John 1 and John 3:16-21, Mike reveals that while we often hide in darkness because of shame, fear of exposure, or because we don’t want to let go of sin that feels comfortable, God sees everything, is never shocked by our mess, and has already paid the price for our forgiveness through Jesus’s death and resurrection. As you listen, hear Mike’s urgent invitation: the darkness is never permanent, God is with you in your pain and wants to show you the way out, and Jesus offers you an abundant life—will you turn from the darkness and allow His light to come and live within you?
