When Jesus Meets Doubt
About this message
In this message, Mike explores how Jesus responds to doubt by examining two powerful encounters—the desperate father of a boy with epilepsy (Mark 9:14-27) and Thomas demanding proof of the resurrection (John 20:24-29)—revealing that doubt is never a reason to avoid Jesus, and that when we come to Him honestly and humbly in our uncertainty, He meets us with extraordinary grace, challenging our doubt and replacing it with faith. Through these stories, Mike shows that dependency on God actually develops us into who He wants us to become; that God is willing to give us evidence for our faith (just as John wrote his gospel so that we would believe); and that doubt might not be the only obstacle to breakthrough—sometimes, like with the disciples, there are other practical matters of prayer, fasting, and obedience that God wants to address in our lives. As you listen, hear Mike’s challenge: whether you’re not yet a Christian asking God for evidence, a believer struggling with mixed faith and doubt, or someone who’s grown cold in your relationship with Jesus, don’t settle for your doubts—ask the Holy Spirit to help you believe, be bold in your faith and witness, and allow Him to prove that He is alive and at work in your life.
